
Nelson Crain, 82, of Noblesville passed away early Monday morning on October 31, 2016 at home with family by his side. He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Janney Crain, sister, Virginia Ruth Crain Meredith, and brother, Edward Flynn Crain. He is survived by his two children, Pamela (Michael) Tennant, and Philip Crain, and two granddaughters, Jennifer and Jessica Tennant. He was born February 8, 1934 to Leon J Crain and Margaret N Crain in Indianapolis, Indiana.
He loved to watch football, wrestling and auto racing. His pride and joy was his yellow 1966 Chevrolet convertible that he loved to drive everywhere. He often played bridge with his card buddies and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed life and his family was very important to him. He was a loving father, devoted husband and loved his granddaughters dearly.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Indiana Funeral Care, 8151 Allisonville Road, in Indianapolis, with visitation beginning at 11:00 am immediately prior to the service. Pastor Dick Judson will officiate. Burial will be at Crownland Cemetery in Noblesville at 3:00 pm.
The family would like to thank the nurses of St. Vincent Indianapolis, St. Vincent Heart Center, St. Vincent Seton Specialty, Riverview Health, Suburban Home Health, and the Seasons Hospice staff for their compassionate care.
